Volume

Cliff Notes
I. Measuring Volume
    A. volume: the amount of three-dimensional space taken up by an object
    B. volume of a regular shaped object (square or rectangle) can be found using the formula
            V = l x w x h
            l = length        w = width        h = height
    C. volume of an irregular shaped object can be found using water displacement
            volume of object = volume of water with object - volume of water without object
    D. Units
        1.  regular shaped objects: cm3
        2. irregular shaped objects: mL
    E. Tools for Measuring
        1. graduated cylinder
        2. ruler
        3. beaker
