2005 Be Smart. Be Responsible. Be Prepared. Get Ready.
On Monday, April 25, 2005, the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) launched a first-of-its-kind statewide disaster preparedness campaign in Chatsworth.
California's First Lady Maria Shriver joined in launching California's new "Be Smart. Be Responsible. Be Prepared. Get Ready" campaign. This effort has grown out of a personal desire and vision of Maria Shriver's to encourage all Californians to be ready for disasters by taking the responsibility to prepare within their home and in their community.
